Couple Counselling

Couple Counselling That Helps You Understand Each Other Again

Couple counselling is a form of talk therapy that helps two partners resolve conflict and rebuild closeness by improving how they communicate, listen and repair after arguments.

What are the signs you need couple counselling?

You may benefit from couple counselling if the same argument keeps repeating, you feel lonely together, or trust has been shaken. Many couples wait years before asking for help. Reaching out early usually makes the work easier and shorter.

  • Constant fights with your partner over small things
  • Emotional distance — living like roommates
  • Trust issues, jealousy or secrecy
  • Lack of intimacy or affection
  • Avoiding important conversations

What relationship problems does couple counselling help with?

Couple counselling can help with communication problems, infidelity, jealousy, life transitions and long-distance strain. It is also useful when you love each other but don't know how to fix the relationship. Your counsellor stays neutral and supports the relationship, not one side.

Communication problems

Speak so you're heard, listen so your partner feels understood.

Infidelity counselling

A guided path through hurt, honesty and the choice to rebuild.

Jealousy and insecurity

Understand where it comes from and how to feel secure together.

Life transitions

New jobs, moves, babies or family pressure.

Long-distance strain

Stay connected across cities or countries.

Feeling stuck

When you want things to improve but don't know how.

How does online couple counselling work in India?

Online couple counselling works through a private, encrypted video call. You can join together from one screen or from two different places. You need a phone or laptop, a stable connection and a quiet room. Sessions follow the same structure as in-person sessions.

Who is couple counselling for — and who is it not for?

Couple Counselling is a good fit for most people facing everyday relationship difficulties. It is not a replacement for emergency, medical or legal help.

This is for you if…

  • Dating, live-in and married couples at any stage
  • Couples stuck in repeated arguments
  • Couples recovering from betrayal who both want to try
  • One partner who wants to start alone

This is not the right support if…

  • Situations involving ongoing physical violence — please seek safety first
  • Psychiatric emergencies or thoughts of self-harm — contact Tele-MANAS (14416) or 112
  • Couples where one partner is being forced to attend

Not for emergencies. If you are in crisis, please contact a local helpline such as Tele-MANAS (14416) or emergency services (112).

Couple counselling vs marriage counselling: what's the difference?

Couple counselling is for any committed couple, married or not. Marriage counselling focuses on issues specific to married life, such as in-laws, parenting and separation decisions. The core skills are the same; the topics differ.
